Saint Mary School on the Radio

On Monday, January 7, 2013, four students from Saint Mary School in Newington traveled to WJMJ Radio studio in Prospect to record promotional statements for the upcoming Catholic School Week. The students were asked to complete the phrase: "My name is__and I love Saint Mary School in Newington because__".

The children received a tour of the studio and were able to ask questions about how radio programming works and what all the different equipment was used for. Then they were brought into the recording booth to record their message. The students involved were Brian Russell and Isabella Contreras, Grade 4 and Justin Miguel from Grade 7 as well as Abi Baker from Grade 8.

The responses that the children gave to the questions involved the great teachers, safe atmosphere and, most of all, being part of a community where everyone knows and helps everyone else.
